Courts in LA

LA Courts

What courts do we use the LA area? There are several private tennis clubs which participate in USTA Leagues, as well as parks.

Use these links to check details on various tennis facilities:

  • LA City Pay Tennis Facilities
  • LA City Free Tennis Facilities
  • Beverly Hills courts (brochure with info)

The following LA City pay facilities are acceptable for play in the LA area:
  1. Cheviot Hills
  2. Westwood
  3. Westchester
  4. Pacific Palisades
  5. Vermont Canyon (Griffith)
  6. Riverside (Griffith)
(The City lists some facilities which are outside of the LA League area.)

LA City - Permit System

Match courts may be reserved for an entire season through the Department of Parks & Recreation's permit system at $10 per hour.

The City of LA has created a new improved way to reserve match courts in advance.

Team Reservation Card replaces the old Permit Reservation system. There are two huge advantages over the old system.

  1. Teams do not have to pay for all of the courts in advance
  2. Courts may be canceled the day before without consequence

Find out more here.

So here is how to get started:

  • Call the City Dept. of Recs & Parks (323-644-3536), and ask for a USTA Team Reservation Card.
  • They will send an application which you will return with the yearly fee of $15 for your team.
  • You may re-use the card for each season. You may list two other individuals who will be able to make reservations and changes for the team.
  • You may request specific court numbers (for example, 1-5 or 6-10 at Cheviot)

Tennis Requests can either be faxed to 213-485-8761 or emailed to park.services@lacity.org .

There are limits on the number of permitted courts at each facility, and restrictions on available times. Contact the City at (323) 644-3536 to obtain more information.

LA City - Phone System

You must have a "Reservation Card" for LA City to reserve courts. Each card is allowed to reserve one court (2 hours) per day only, at a cost of $8 per hour. You'll need more than one card to reserve more courts for your team (get one for your spouse, team mates, pets?)

Reservations may only be made one week in advance through the automated telephone system. Find out more with these links:
